Dr. Whittney McPherson

Chief Financial Officer – Lumpkin County School System

Whittney McPherson is originally from South Alabama. Soon after graduating high school, she moved to a town outside of Birmingham, AL where she attended the University of Montevallo and received her Bachelor's Degree in FACS Education. Dr. McPherson went on to earn a Master's Degree from the University of North Georgia in Science Education, a Specialist Degree in Curriculum & Instruction from Piedmont University and a Tier II Leadership Certification from the University of North Georgia. Dr. McPherson completed the doctoral program at the University of South Carolina in 2023. She fell in love with Dahlonega and Lumpkin County on her first visit here in 2007 and moved here soon after. Dr. McPherson started her teaching career at Gainesville High School where she worked for eleven years. After earning her leadership certification, she worked as the Assistant Principal for Lumpkin County High School from 2017-2022.
