Lumpkin County Schools is seeking applicants for a School Nurse to support the health and well-being of our students for the 2026-2027 school year. The School Nurse will provide direct healthcare services, manage student health records, respond to medical emergencies, and promote a healthy school environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide first aid and basic healthcare to students.

• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and school policies/procedures.

• Develop and maintain individualized healthcare plans for students with chronic conditions.

• Monitor and manage communicable diseases and ensure compliance with health regulations.

• Maintain accurate student health records and documentation.

• Conduct health screenings (vision, hearing, etc.) as required.

• Respond to medical emergencies and coordinate care with emergency services when necessary.

• Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student health concerns.

• Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administrators to support student wellness.

• Promote health education and preventive care within the school community.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

• Previous experience in pediatrics, public health, or school nursing preferred.

• Current CPR and First Aid certification.

• Strong communication and organizational skills.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work effectively with children, families, and staff.
