School Nurse
Lumpkin County Schools is seeking applicants for a School Nurse to support the health and well-being of our students for the 2026-2027 school year. The School Nurse will provide direct healthcare services, manage student health records, respond to medical emergencies, and promote a healthy school environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide first aid and basic healthcare to students.
Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and school policies/procedures.
Develop and maintain individualized healthcare plans for students with chronic conditions.
Monitor and manage communicable diseases and ensure compliance with health regulations.
Maintain accurate student health records and documentation.
Conduct health screenings (vision, hearing, etc.) as required.
Respond to medical emergencies and coordinate care with emergency services when necessary.
Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student health concerns.
Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administrators to support student wellness.
Promote health education and preventive care within the school community.
Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Previous experience in pediatrics, public health, or school nursing preferred.
Current CPR and First Aid certification.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and work effectively with children, families, and staff.
