Julie Knight-Brown
Director of School Nutrition – Lumpkin County School SystemJulie Knight-Brown has lived in Georgia for the past 27 years and worked in school nutrition for the past 18 years. She received her School Nutrition Director Certification from the University of Georgia, and prior to that her Masters & Bachelors degrees both in Human Nutrition & Foods from University of Bridgeport, CT and Virginia Tech respectively. Julie is a Licensed & Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and a member of national & local dietetic and school nutrition associations. She is a Board member of the Georgia Mountain Food Bank and serves a leadership role in the local Hometown Harvest Dahlonega-UNG community garden collaboration. Julie and her team provide nourishing food paired with subtle yet clear education about how to eat right and be healthy, with the aim to help our students establish beneficial eating and wellness habits that last a lifetime.
