Lead Special Education Teacher General Curriculum (P-12)
Lumpkin County Schools is now accepting applications for a Lead Special Education teacher for the 2026-2027 school year.
Position Overview:
The Lead Special Education Teacher will support students with diverse learning needs. This role involves developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs), leading a team of educators, and fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement IEPs tailored to student needs
Provide direct instruction and behavioral support
Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families
Lead and mentor special education staff
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Special Education
Valid state teaching certification in Special Education General Curriculum (P-12)
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Experience working with diverse learning and behavioral needs
