Student Advocacy Specialist - Part-time
Lumpkin County Schools is now accepting applications for a part-time Student Advocacy Specialist with Lumpkin County Schools.
Performance Responsibilities:
Coordinate early identification and intervention for students with or at risk for mental and behavioral health concerns
Analyze attendance, discipline, academic, and referral data to identify early warning signs
Support and participate in behavioral threat assessment and school safety processes
Facilitate timely referrals to school-based, community-based, telehealth, and external behavioral health services
Collaborate with school counselors, social workers, nurses, psychologists, administrators, and safety personnel to support coordinated case management
Track referrals and services to ensure follow-up, continuity of care, and appropriate support levels
Coordinate transition and re-entry plans for students returning from alternative or restrictive placements
Monitor and report outcomes of interventions and student progress to district and state partners
Develop and maintain partnerships and referral resources with community agencies and service providers
Coordinate Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 behavioral health supports, including prevention, targeted interventions, and intensive services
Support staff training related to mental health awareness, trauma-informed practices, and suicide prevention
Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with state and district requirements
Attend required trainings and collaborate with school safety and threat assessment team
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in counseling, social work, psychology, a related behavior health field or comparable experience in these fields of expertise with GaPSC Certification
Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to work effectively with students, families, educators, community organizations, insurance care coordinators, behavioral health providers, and state agencies.
