Mental Health Counselor
Lumpkin County Schools is now accepting applications for a mental health counselor at Lumpkin County Schools for the 2025-2026 school year.
To address the mental health issues of students so they are able to function to the best of their ability.
Primary Responsibilities:
Responds and assesses students in crisis for the purpose of addressing immediate safety concerns and resolutions, identify appropriate resources, provide referral services, and connect students and families with additional services as needed.
Provides crisis intervention and/or follow-up services for students who have experienced mental health issues.
Provides individual, group, and crisis mental health services when students cannot be connected with an outside agency and as needed.
Identifies needs and coordinates training activities for school staff and families.
Consults with school system employees to assist students and their families with mental health services.
Work collaboratively to plan, implement and oversee wraparound mental health services as a community process and provide monthly staffings with community and school-based mental health providers.
Create, maintain, and promote a community of partnerships with key stakeholder groups including families, agencies, providers and community representatives and serve as the districts Local Interagency Planning Team representative (LIPT).
Minimum Qualifications: Master’s Degree in a human services field. Georgia certification or licensure (LMSW, LPC, LCSW, LMFT, Psychology)
